Manual Programming of a Polycom VVX Series Phone

1. Purpose

The purpose of this document is to define how to manually program a Polycom VVX series telephone to the Broadsmart system, this would be used if the phone does not auto-provision or is going to be used in a remote location not behind a Broadsmart router.

2. Scope

This document provides the approved procedure and current method of accessing the advanced menu of the phone in order to program it to reach out to the Broadsmart servers to retrieve its configuration.

3. Process

Select the Menu or Home button, then Settings, then Advanced Settings and enter Pass-code 943465 or 456
Select Administration Settings, then Network Configuration, then Provisioning Server, then DHCP Menu, then Boot Server and set it to "Static"
Select Back to go back one step in the menu
Select Server Type and set it to "HTTP"
Select Server Address and set it to the appropriate address below for the phone model you are programming, NOTE: the server address IS case sensitive

Select Back to go back one step in the menu
Select Ethernet Menu, then VLAN Menu, then VLAN ID and make sure it is blank
Select Back and save configuration, the phone should reboot
